Born Free Vendor Set Up

Vendor set up is 8 am to 10 am on Saturday. We want to everything set up and ready by 10- ish...We will be closing the street at 11:30 and all vehicles must be out of the show area by then.If you are a vendor and have any questions please email me @ jimmy.dickens@hotmail.com

Music news

as you know, we are having an after party/show at local Long Beach rock and roll hot spot Alex's Bar (the vampire bar from True Blood!, really!) and we will have four bands there to rock your little hearts out.

Unfortunately we have some sad and glad news, JD King can't play the show due to some band troubles. We know many of you, including us, were really looking forward to this, but in a similar but different fashion we are proud to present to you an LA gem of a band called Spindrift. They are a psychedelic spaghetti western band that is like none other. Spindrift has just returned from another European tour with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and features a revolving door membership that includes memebers from bands like Brian Jonestown Massacare and the Warlocks. They even had a song in the movie Hell Ride and are right at home on TeePee Records.

I have seen them many times and had the pleasure of shooting their unique shows with my trust old Canon.

Doors at 8pm and bands are on at 9pm starting with O Zorn, then the Beautiful Buzzards, Spindrift, and then the Ramonas. See you then and get there early, it's gonna be packed!

Born Free Info::

Poster / ticket online sales are now over. We have a very limited number left and will be for sale the day of the event.It will be on a first come first serve basis.So get there on time to get yours!! The show is a few days from now and we can't wait.The show is @ Pacific Coast Cycles 2430 Lewis ave, Signal Hill 90755 from 12 to 6 pm. Lewis ave will be closed at 25 th to Nevada for the show.There will be NO CAR PARKING in the closure area. We are asking if you come by car please park on any other street but Lewis.We want the whole street to park all the bikes. Awards at 3:30 ish and bike to be given away around 4 pm.

There is something for everyone and all the awards are real vintage trophies from the 40,50 & 60's.We will have some very special judges from across the globe judging the bikes. Born Free is less than a week away..so get your bikes ready and get there.

Pacific Coast Cycles

The Born Free bike show is being held at Pacific Coast Cycles.The owner is Mike O'Brien .When I first met Mike I told him about the first Born Free show we did and before I could finish the story he said "let's do the next one here".His enthusiasm for the show & old bikes fired me up so much I told Grant about it & we decided to do it again... and that's how Born Free 2 got it's new home.Mike has assumed a huge responsibility by having this show at his shop and we really appreciate it.We also want to show respect for him & his property when we are all there having a great time.I stopped by his shop yesterday afternoon to sign some paperwork and found out that Mike had suffered a heart attack on Monday night.He is doing great and told me if he didn't make it his son knows what do and the show would go on...Needless to say he is fine and now back to work.I also found out that he is a cancer survivor,this is one tough guy. When we talk about old motorcycles he gets so excited you can't help but get excited too.We are building a good friendship and we are glad to put this show on with him.

Born-Free Support!

A big box of goodies came in from the govenor of Iowa, Jeff Wright at Church of Choppers and FTWCO. It is chock full of limited edition COC and FTWCO t-shirts, a COC backpack, and even a Tom Fugle hand tooled leather biker belt!!!!!!!!!
We'll be putting together some great gift packs as consolation prizes to those that bought posters/tickets and drawing a few raffle numbers after we give the bike away to give some great sponsor donated swag away.

The Street & Born Free

After 4 months...We finally got it!! We are pleased to announce that the City of Signal Hill has graciously granted us a street closure permit for the Born Free Show. We will have a city block completely shut down just for the show. So those of you who were concerned about space...don't be. It will have a street fair feel and NO CARS to worry about!!We will update you on some details very soon...

Our loud and lovely friend Rico Fodrey of Hi Bond Modified dropped us off a box a goodies to give away at the show. We showed you a sneak peek of the sweet Born-Free air cleaner Chopper Dave made, now we have it polished AND the BORN-FREE foot pegs! There will be one of each on the Born-Free Panhead and Chopper Dave made an ULTRA LIMITED run of 5 of these air cleaners that will be available the day of the show in the Born-Free booth. They will all have backing plates for Linkert carbs, but if you want to buy one and need it for another style of carb let us know here and we'll make arangements.


Not only this, but many of you have Chopper Dave's famous Super Freak Panhead on your Top FAVORITE CHOPPER list, he is prepping it right now from sitting for the last few years and will be riding it to Born-Free so you can see it in person! You out of towners better load up on some film!

Born Free Drawing Info::

The drawing will be held at (( 4 pm )) the day of the show!! The promotion is open to everyone except : Us 4 & our wives/girlfriends and family...that's it! So if you are a vendor or sponsor you can win.This contest works as follows:: You buy a poster for 25.00 & you get a FREE ticket for the drawing.We recorded your name with the ticket number and the day of the show we put the ticket stubs in a big tumbler,have someone from the crowd pull the ticket....and that's it....New Panhead!!! You must be present to win!! If you buy a poster/ticket and can not make the show someone must have your ticket and be there to accept it for you!! no exceptions!!
