Born Free Week

The week of the show there is a lot going on..so you out of towners will have plenty to do. Yoshi @ The Garage Company has extended his shop again to have a party on Thursday Night June 23 rd. 6 to 10...for all those who have not been to the Garage Co. before ..you need to go.We will have some more info soon. There is also talk of several different events Friday night and as soon as we get the details we will fill you in. The show is Saturday and the Dice Party that night...If you need more the Long Beach Motorcycle Swapmeet is Sunday.There is some nice riding all around the show area & Cooks Corner ( PARTY LOCATION) is a great place to eat & hangout( biker friendly)

Don't back down

Chris Klein from Iowa rode his crazy shovelhead to Born-Free 2 solo...long story short he blew a hole in his tranny and bumped into Dustin (i think) from th sinners and they helped him get to the show. He wound up getting another from Mike O'Brian of Pacific Coast Cycles ( where we had BF2) and he was able to ride home...but i think he blew his motor on the return trip. Well, we gave him the Born-Free award because he was livin' "it", in fact the award is still in Long Beach becasue it was too big to pack on his bike.

Well, he has been rebuilding the bike almost completely and is doing a hell of a job! see you in June...

theres a few of us riding to bornfree leaving from brooklyn ny june 10 and heading to north carolina with a chase truck to pick up trailer from raliegh nc...leaving raleigh june 12th i believe..we have 2 spots open to have your bike shipped out to show we were thinking we will be out there around june 22nd........if you are interested hit me up asap so 2 bikes can fit in van from brooklyn to nc where they will be put in the trailer...also there could be a chance we meet the nc crew in knoxville tenn to save some miles and time hit me up with any questions..... vander@deathscience.com

Sponsor Spotlight-Hawgholic

Our good friend Gaku Yokomizo (shown to the left at Born-Free 2) of Hawgholic in Tokyo sent in a generous paypal to help out with Born-Free 3 since he can't make it this year due to effects of the recent earthquake/nuclear situation in eastern Japan. Gaku has been building some of the coolest old iron in Japan for years now and even though we were excited to have him bring one of his bikes over to be part of the invited builder showcase, we understand family comes first, we'll miss you this year my friend!

We are honored to have been asked by Carry of Hopper Mag to bring the Born-Free Knucklehead to be part of a small group of invited bikes for his Art of The Cycle show Saturday May 21 in Long Beach, California. Born Free Awards

Y e S ...we will be doing real vintage trophies again this year for the show's top bikes.We will have guest judges picking their favorite bikes from anyone who puts a bike in the show. We have a wide variety of catagories..from Best Japanese to Best Cafe. We also will have our very special Best in Show Award given away from last year's winner.

Classic Cycles Builder Spot

Tony & Andy Dunn of Classic Cycles are part of our builder invite this year and are putting together a mighty fine 60's style Pre Unit Triumph....Swingarm! Classic Cycles is located in the city of Orange and you may remember they hosted the first Born Free show,their little red Pre Unit Rigid won an award at last years show and they are all around good guys. The shop can do it all from tune ups to complete builds,so if you need work some done...look up them up.

CZ'S Born Free Video

The Zombies did a bang up job putting this together and it really shows. This is a very nice recipe for a Born Free video...an interview,the bikes and some riding footage.We do not recommend standing up on your bike with no hands these are trained professionals. We are still doing the VIDEO contest and a special award given at the show.Mark Choiniere did the video and really nailed it.

a few years ago Jeff Holt and i went out to Kingman, Arizona to meet Kayelynn and Chopper Jim's clan of Denver's Chopper nuts. We shot somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 original and restored Denver's choppers from back in the day. These guys have been collecting Denver's bikes for like 20 years, but they talk about it like they bought their first one yesterday-they love it! well, i got an email from Kayelynn and said they have 11 bikes ready to come to Born-Free with another possible 13 Denver's bikes!!! Will this be the biggest gathering of these choppers in recent decades? Load your camera with film, because there might be 24 Denver's bikes at Born-Free 3....find out June 25th...
