Add Floating Social Media Sharing Buttons To Blogger

The Floating Social Media Sharing is a very popular widget on all the top blogs, being a very good way to increase the number of times your posts get shared on Twitter, Facebook and other social networks. It has some of the following functions: Facebook Like, StumbleUpon, Twitter Share, Digg This, Google+ and RSS Feed Icon and each of them comes with a live counter. You can add more sharing buttons or social bookmarking icons later if you wish.

Blogger, WordPress, Facebook, Share

How to add the scrolling social bookmarking bar

The code to copy-paste (updated!):

<!-- floating share bar Start helplogger.blogspot.com--> <style type="text/css"> #pageshare {position:fixed; bottom:5%; margin-left:-721px; float:left; border-radius:5px;-moz-border-radius:5px;-webkit-border-radius:5px;background-color:#fff;padding:0 0 2px 0;z-index:10;} #pageshare .sbutton {float:left;clear:both;margin:5px 5px 0 5px;} .fb_share_count_top {width:48px !important;} .fb_share_count_top, .fb_share_count_inner {-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;} .FBConnectButton_Small, .FBConnectButton_RTL_Small {width:49px !important; -moz-border-radius:3px;/*bs-fsmsb*/-webkit-border-radius:3px;} .FBConnectButton_Small .FBConnectButton_Text {padding:2px 2px 3px !important;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;font-size:8px;} </style> <div id='pageshare' title="Get this from Helpblogger.com">

Customization:
  • Vertical alignment - Change the value of bottom in code line 3. The code positions the button relative to the bottom of your browser window. To fix the distance even when window is resized, specify the value in px (pixels) instead of %.
  • Horizontal alignment - Change the value in red of margin-left. Negative value pushes the button to the left of the main blog column, positive value pushes it to the right. Increase or decrease the value based on your needs.
  • Twitter setting - Replace Helplogger with your Twitter username
  • Replacing and removing buttons - You can replace existing buttons with your own. Each button is represented by this code: <div class='sbutton'> BUTTON CODE HERE </div>
  • RSS Feed - Change the text in blue with the url address of your RSS feed.
Enjoy :)

Street Chopper Release Party

Street Chopper's new issue is due out any day and they are having a party to celebrate. Saturday June 23 rd from 2 pm to 8 pm. Yoshi from the Garage Company is graciously hosting the event. It's at the world famous Garage Company in Inglewood Ca. It's the Saturday before Born-Free 4 and the day before the Long Beach swap meet...so if you are coming into town early for the show this will be a fun weekend. Free food,drinks,giveaways...lots of bikes and all the Garage Company has to offer. We will be set up selling Born-Free posters w/tickets and have both giveaway bikes for your viewing pleasure. The Garage Company is located at 956 w. Hyde Park Blvd. in Inglewood Ca.

Create A Rollover Image Effect (change image on mouseover)

The Rollover effect is one in which an image web object changes (swaps itself) on mouse over to another web object (called rollovers) and reverts back to the original image on mouse out. Rollover images are preloaded into the page when it is loading, this ensures that the rollovers are displayed quickly. The onMouseOver and onMouseOut attributes of the link tag are used to make this functional.

Demo:  Place your mouse over the image below to see its rollover effect

Making Rollover Effect Image

You have the following code:

<a href="URL ADDRESS"><img src="URL OF THE FIRST IMAGE GOES HERE" onmouseover="this.src='URL OF THE SECOND IMAGE GOES HERE'" onmouseout="this.src='URL OF THE FIRST IMAGE GOES HERE'" /></a>

Change the colored texts as it follows:

1. URL ADDRESS

This is the address where somebody will be sent when clicks on the image.
Example, my blog address: http://www.helplogger.blogspot.com

2. URL OF THE FIRST IMAGE GOES HERE

Replace the orange text (two times) with the URL address of the image which will appear before you hover over it.

3. URL OF THE SECOND IMAGE GOES HERE
Replace the text in blue with the url of  the image that will appear when the cursor hovers over it.

Now you can paste your image inside a blog gadget, going to Layout > click on Add a Gadget link (right side) > Select HTML/JavaScript from the pop-up window, then add it to your sidebar.

You can also add it inside your post by going to New Post > Switch to HTML tab and then paste the code in the empty box.

That's it. Enjoy ;)

Show Info

We have only 30 days until showtime and I have been meeting with all the local authorities about the show & their concerns and here are the things you must know:: There is absolutely no street parking anywhere! You can not park on the street so please don't do it you will be towed. We have paid a kings ranson for an additional parking lot for cars so we will not have the issues we had last year. The next concern is speed... Don't speed !! They will be waiting for you. The private road is small and narrow and waiting for an accident to happen so please be careful and control your speed. We will have plenty of signs showing you where to park. The first entrance( main) is the entrance to use if you want to put your bike in the show..whatever the year...otherwise if you are on a new bike following the signs and attendants to the back entrance...you still we be on show grounds and parked on the luscious grass. Lastly we need to take care of the grass...so please no burnouts ect, they have a wedding the next day and I promised the site owner we would be respectful. This is a two man show so the more you know the more you can help us. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Matt Olsen EL Update ( Builder )

Matt writes :::: My dad and I built a 1948 panhead for our friend Glenn in Pennsylvania about
eight years ago. The bike was a real mess when we started and it turned out
really nice. It is the donked out azure blue 48 on our website. Anyways,
Glenn has been riding and enjoying the bike for quite a while, a couple years
ago he asked us to build him the coolest knucklehead bobber that we could. Fast
forward through a bunch of time fabricating and this is what you end up with. We cut every fin on the motor to make a nice gradual curve from the cylinder to
the base, Then I polished the bases of the cylinders and different parts of the
heads and electroless nickle plated the top end. The oil pump and lifter blocks
are nickle plated too. The displacement is sixty one inches or 1000ccs for you
ferners. This is one of my favorite parts of the bike...the Speedo it is an indian 741
unit. The gauges are from a 1928 dodge car, They were actually in a cluster,
and i had to cut them apart, then machine up cups for mounting them to the
bike. I still have to reprint the faces, make bezels and glass before the
show. The dash is made out of nine pieces of aluminum and welded together. My
friend Lock baker flew in to help with the dash and primary cover. The bars are
sectioned early hydra glide bars welded to tapered risers that I made on the
lathe . The transmission is raised 1.125 of an inch, you can kind of see the supports
in this picture. they are very cool and kind of look like gumbys legs.
Notice that the tubing for the axle stays is tapered from 1.125 to 1.00. The
tubes from beneath the engine cradle that go up to the neck are also tapered.
This is a pretty common feature on pre teen bikes and looks really classy. it
is very subtle, but worth the effort. Miss Brittney and I spent a week with
Chad pearson back in January and built the frame. It was a lot of fun. the
cross member under the transmission is stock and so is the front engine mount,
everything else is made from raw materials. The steering angle is the same as 36 to 40 knuckleheads. we had to stretch the
frame in order to get 4 inches of trail. The rear wheel is an 18 inch rim with
a 450 ANS tire, and the front wheel is a 19 inch rim with a 400 ANS tire. The
centers of the rims are nickel plated and the edges arepainted sherwood green,
which is a 36 only color.
Check out the inlaid oil tank sight gauge, I
still have to french it in, but you get the idea. The primary coverstarted out
as flat sheet aluminum and is made out of seventeen different pieces that are
welded togeether, I have a lot of sanding to do to make it look as nice as the
dash, but it is doable. The chain guard is made out of aluminum too. It is
tough to make a chain guard look good, this one looks about as good asthey can
look. The seat pan is a cut up standard 40 and later pan. I shortened the
nose 1.875 inches and narrowed it to an 11 inch width. It is kind of a mix
between a WR and WRTT seat pan. I ordered a reproduction vl seat t and pivot
from Mike Breeding. I only ended up being able to use about five inches out of
the seat t, but it has such a nice look. The pipes in this pic are just rough mock ups. I had something totally
different in mind, but it would have ended up covering up the bottom curve of
the frame, so I had to go with something a little different. I think that
this set up is a nice compromise which does more for the overall package. I
love how the fender skirts have a reverse taper. They are wider at the top
than the bottom.. I am going to cut another couple inches out of the bars
before getting them plated.
